Who decides when it’s Xmas?

From the Halesowen News, first published Friday 24th Nov 2006.

The signs are everywhere - maybe a bit early for some people but we all know that it will soon be Christmas.

But what has happened in the Cornbow Centre - no wise men or baby Jesus, no Father Christmas or Rudolf.

Eskimos and fish, this really has gone too far.

The British Isles, which includes Halesowen, is a Christian country with Christian values and traditions.

We are not going to offend anyone by doing what we believe in.

Let us celebrate Christmas as we have done for a long time without the interference of individuals who think they know better than the majority. You try explaining to grandchildren what has happened to father Christmas and Rudolf. You are being paid to do a job not to censure and dictate what should happen.
