From the archive, first published Friday 1st Jul 2005.

Young lifesavers at a Cradley school are through to the regional finals of a first aid and fire safety competition.

A team from Colley Lane Primary will travel to the Hawthorns football ground on July 19, where they will compete in the West Midlands final.

Teacher Sarah Pearsall said: "They are fantastic.

"They have been working really hard, and parents have helped with their support. We're hoping they will win!"

Bright team members have already proved their talent by winning the first round of the competition, where they set their wits against teams from nine schools and scooped £100 for their own school.
