A 45-YEAR-OLD Dudley lorry driver has been jailed for a year after a wheel flew off his vehicle on the M6 and killed a driver.
Stephen Devonport from Hillmeads Drive was sentenced at Knutsford Crown Court on Friday.
Devonport was found guilty after trial last month of causing death by dangerous driving in the accident which happened in June 2001.
Judge Derek Halbert told him the sentence was the shortest he could impose but that Devonport had been negligent in maintaining his vehicle which had contributed to the wheel coming off.
